I entered Niagara College as a post graduate from Western University. Niagara was offering the FITT program which was appealing to me, as I had just returned from backpacking overseas and was interested to meet and learn from other business-minded students from all over the world.

"It was interesting to learn from Canadian foreign diplomats teaching the program. I met some great people during that program, some that I still do business with all these years later."

It was scary, especially coming from West Africa – a different colour, different culture, different everything. At every point in Niagara College I met people who made me happy, kept me pushing, or just shared experiences.

One thing I would point out is the practicality of the things being taught, in Labour Relations I had simulations with Laura Bond, interview demos by Susan Ehlert and many other amazing tutors made it hands on and easy to understand. This certainly made me feel confident in my abilities to perform my job responsibilities.

It's the people that stand out most to me. They provided and facilitated all the opportunities that were thrown my way.

While at NC Austin landed an internship at Dome Productions as part of the BRTF Program. He quickly mastered his trade and would move from logistics to working on the production side after being asked to help at the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics. Shortly after, his career would take shape as he was assigned the role of Qball Camera Operator shooting NHL Games across Canada and the United States.

My time at NC had a huge impact on how my career was shaped.

Alison attributes NC to having a monumental impact on her career trajectory. After graduating from the Tourism Management - Business Development program, Myers would spend time working at Niagara College Teaching Winery and would later go on to get her WSET 3 certification. This passion for wines and spirits would lead Myers to landing a job as the Assistant Marketing Manager for Diamond Estates Wines & Spirits. After one year in this role Myers would be promoted to the Assistant Brand Manager.
